Policy nerd connecting communities to government by building source networks, scouring budgets and monitoring meetings

I am a former peacebuilder turned journalist after completing a master’s degree in public affairs reporting. During the program, I covered the 2024 Illinois legislative session. I have a penchant for understanding policymaking and enjoy sharing that with my readers so they can better participate and advocate in their communities. I currently write for the Ketchikan Daily News. Although I focus on local borough and school board action, I monitor information channels for state and federal developments that could impact Southeast Alaska residents.
